Monitoring Groundwater Quality using Probability Distribution in Gwale, Kano state, Nigeria

Groundwater is the water present beneath earth’s surface in soil pore spaces and fractures of rock formations. Establishing a probability distribution that provides good fit to groundwater quality has recently become topic interest fields hydrology, meteorology among others. In this paper, three datasets including calcium, magnesium, chloride are fitted normal, lognormal, gamma, Weibull, logistic, log-logistic distributions select best model. The measures goodness fits such as Akaike information criterion (AIC), Bayesian (BIC), log-likelihood computed compare models. results show gamma gives better for calcium magnesium while lognormal dataset than other competing This research describes an application best-fitted practical problem involving data analysis. By assuming data, analysts can utilize characteristics make predictions on outcomes.
